IT and AI advisory

The business sets the direction. IT sets the pace.

I help businesses make better use of the IT they have, and decide what the next step should be. Including when that step is AI.

Every business runs on IT, but usually it has grown ad hoc, without an overall strategy. What is missing is a clear view of what it costs, what it is actually used for, and what could go without being missed.

About

Advisory with focus on your business, built on years of development and operations

I am Kay Lindgaard Pedersen, an IT and AI advisor. Most businesses picked up their IT along the way: systems bought when they were needed, and rarely revisited since. The result is a portfolio that costs more than it should, and that fits a company which no longer exists.

The approach is evidence-based and direct: no recommendation without a business case behind it, and no conclusion that has not been checked. I sell neither licences nor a vendor's hours, so the recommendation may well be "optimize what you have", and it is, more often than you would expect.

Services

Three things I help with

The three belong together but can be taken one at a time. Start where it hurts most. Usually that is the invoice.

PORTFOLIO

IT portfolio optimization

One view of every system, licence and contract: what they cost, what they are used for, where they overlap, and what can be cut without anyone missing it.

DIRECTION

An IT strategy that matches the ambition

A plan that matches the size and the ambitions of the business: what to do now, what can wait, and what you are better off leaving untouched.

AI

AI where it fits the purpose

AI put to work where the gain can be measured, and kept out where it cannot, including what that asks of your data, your ways of working and your own judgement along the way.

Approach

Three principles behind every engagement

01

Business before technology

Tool choices start from the business need, not the other way round.

02

Fast realization of gains

Put the focus on short-term gain, and the goal gets reached.

03

Tailored rather than maximized

The goal is not maximized technology but the right amount: enough to do the job, no more than you can utilize.
